Yankee's tickets please!?

Hello, I will be visiting new York next spring from Boston. Can anyone help me get Yankees tickets? I would also appreciate it if you can give me directions to Yankee Stadium. Directions through the suburbs would be best as I am not in the mood to get shot at.

Thanks!

You get the best seats if you go to the park the night before, about 1:00 am or so, and shout "looking for some action here, lookin for some action here" - that's code to the ticket sellers that you want good seats. Someone will find you, just keep walking around, and come alone.

well, i dont know when you're going or where exactly you'll be coming in from, but i suggest ticketmaster.com and mapquest.com. that should help rather nicely.

have fun :)

oh, be sure to try the pizza while you're up there; best in the world.
http://www.yankees.com - get your tickets there. You can print them out at home. Great system.

Directions to the park are also on that site. How do you plan on getting there? Parking can be insane (especially when they're building a stadium across the street), so I do recommend the subway, depending on where you're coming from (where you're staying, for example, unless it's just a day trip). The subway goes right there, it's quick, safe, clean, and cheap. On game days, it's also quite busy, and you'll be just riding along with baseball fans.

Keep in mind, no matter which way you go, the suburbs do end somewhere. Don't be so worried about getting shot at, really. It might not be the best part of town, but on game day, it's not bad. Think of it this way - I'm saying that, and I'm a Mets fan. How bad can it be? Just do the basic safety things that you'd do anywhere else; be smart, keep your wits, and don't leave valuables hanging out. Don't make yourself a target, that's all. Same common-sense things you'd do anywhere.
"NYC fan" said it well. If you are here in April, you just migt see the Pope.

He will have Mass there after visiting Ground Zero
There are no "suburbs" in NYC. Suburbs are in the suburbs and NYC is an urban area. I also believe NYC crime rate is lower than bostons, so stay home if you are scared.

NYC has 750 crimes per 100,000 people

Boston, at a fraction of the size, has 1224 crimes per 100000

Ny is ranked 16, while Boston is ranked 31.
Around February, Yankee game tickets go on sale at Ticketmaster. The BIG games which will be hard to get tickets for are either the "Subway Series" games with the Mets and the Red Sox (we kinda have this "rivalry" thing, ya know? ;) )

Easiest...less traffic free way to do this is to take the Mass Pike out to the I-84 exit (I forget the number) to Hartford. Look for the signs for I-91 South (New Haven). Once in New Haven, then head for South I-95 and proceed from there..going into New York City. You will look for exit 6B (I-278 - Bruckner Expressway) which will be on your LEFT side. After a couple of miles on the Bruckner you will approach an elevated part of the roadway...stay to your right and follow the signs for I-87 (Major Deegan Expressway). Once on the Deegan you will find exits for E. 149th Street - a couple of parking lots that way - and for Yankee Stadium (lots at or near the stadium on Jerome Avenue).

But seriously, the best thing for you to do is to Amtrak down to Penn Station, then grab the "1, 2, or 3" subway train from there to Times Square. Then take the shuttle train "S" to Grand Central and transfer for the "4" train that takes you DIRECTLY to Yankee Stadium. (If you are staying in the city...the "D" train also goes to Yankee Staduim(

Granted, Yankee Stadium isn't in the most wonderful section of the Bronx but I can assure you....during game time there is no other area that is SAFER since they have cops ALL OVER the place before, during and after the game. And the city as a whole is safer so you won't get shot at. Though, unless you are going to a game that has the Red Sox in it, DO NOT wear a Red Sox cap (or any opposing team cap) to Yankee Stadium. Yankee fans aren't necessarily the most "open and warm" when it comes to other teams...that's just part of the "rep". Wearing a Red Sox cap is just asking for trouble. Especially if your seat happens to be in the bleachers.
