Previous traffic tickets and accidents?

does anyone know how i can obtain my previous traffic tickets and accidents that i have had in the past 5 years so that i can get auto insurance quotes online. i cant remember them and i need a way to get them online. thanks

i think police departments only have records of citations they gave you in that town. if you need copies i think you might have to go to the town clerk or possibly the registry.

You should be able to get it from the police dept. It's public record.
go to your state site,gov/motorvehicles and get a printout
I believe you can go to either DMV in your area or to your local Police Department (unless it was in more than one state, county, city, then you'll have to go there or contact them there too) and request your records. You just have to give them your Driver's Liscence so that way they can locate you in the system. I'm not quite sure if it's free or not, but it should be no trouble. Those are your records and you have a full right to getting them whenever you'd like :)

If you need to buy it right now, guess as close as you think and they will adjust your premium when they get it.

You can compare quotes evenly by entering the same info for each.
Your best bet is your state's driver's license bureau. In some states this is a separate agency or falls under the Department of Transportation. Police department would only work if you know all of the jurisdictions where you received tickets, and you may have forgotten. Also, many insurance agencies only check with your state's driver's licence bureau and not all traffic tickets will show up on your record, so you sometimes do not need to report them.
